The agency warns that gardens can be hazardous to pets, especially those animals that like to dig and wander around in flower beds that have been recently sprayed with chemicals. While the ASPCA reports that herbicides, pesticides and fertilizer can be toxic for pets, some pet owners opt to spray chemicals anyway in an effort to rid their yard of annoying fleas and ticks.
