Following oestrus, the HF ewes (Gore) were artificially inseminated using either fresh or frozen semen from 5 Texel sires that had a high breeding value (BV) for bulk and fleece weight (Sheepac list), whereas LC ewes were joined with 5 RC Romney sires.
