This Convention will force exporters of certain dangerous chemicals to first obtain approval from importing countries like Jamaica before Heads of Pesticide Boards of the Caribbean region, Jamaica was accepted as a member and is to host the next meeting.

He emphasized that it was necessary to bear all aspects of the pesticide regulations issue in mind so that the recommendations to be developed would reflect a holistic approach that would guide the region in the development of legislation for pesticide.
